Weather-resistant steel, also known as Corten steel, is a high strength low alloy structural steel with enhanced atmospheric corrosion resistance produced by adding a small number of alloying elements like copper, chromium, nickel, and other corrosion-resistant elements to carbon steel. It prevents steel corrosion by forming a dense, well-adhering amorphous oxide protective film on the metal substrate.
The properties of weather-resistant steel plates include good toughness, ductility, forming, welding and cutting, abrasion, high temperature, and fatigue. It has 2-8 times the corrosion protection and 1.5-10 times the paintability of carbon steel. Weather-resistant steel plate is widely used in many fields such as railway rolling stock, architecture, towers, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure projects under corrosive conditions.
Weather-resistant steel plates have excellent toughness, ductility, forming, welding, and cutting properties, as well as resistance to abrasion, high temperatures, and fatigue. It has 2-8 times the corrosion protection and 1.5-10 times the paintability of ordinary steel . Weather-resistant steel plate is extensively used in numerous areas, including railway rolling stock, architecture, towers, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure projects under corrosive conditions.
